To feed or not to feed, that is the question. Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to starve...

Well it looks like our journey to acute care is roadblocked until Elliott eats. He can't eat until his chylous ascites clears up. The only real test is to let him eat and see if it kicks up again. But they won't let him eat until the chylous ascites clears up. But he hasn't eaten so they don't know if there is still a problem until he eats. But we cant start feeds until we know that he wont have any more chylous drainage. Can you see the cycle that is developing? It's killing me. Staying put is fine with me, but I wish they would all get on board with his plan. Is he really going to be npo for 7 days? Can we start trophic feeds with respect to this chylous issue, since he only seemed to show difficulty with higher volume feeds? No answers. Love that.
